Hello and welcome.
My name is Darby and I am the founder of Energy Movement Center based in the Lower Hudson Valley and now online! As a certified personal trainer, group exercise instructor and wellness coach for over 30 years, I have helped hundreds of people navigate their perceived physical limitations through strengthening the smaller deeper muscles to help support the larger muscles.
Zen Wellness Qigong protocols follow the cycles of nature. For example, in the fall, nature’s energy is letting go. In our life cycle, the fall is the time of life that we begin to let go of things that no longer serve us. We work on exercises and movements practices that open the front of the body, nourishing our lungs and large intestine. We practice focused breath work to move oxygen to all the areas of the body to wake it up, all the way to the tips of the fingers and toes.
As we advance through the Restorative practices and move towards more challenging longevity practices, you will be introduced to the Dao Yin and Dao Yi practices as well as forms that move through the 8 vessels and 12 meridians.
Zen Yoga is about vitality, inspiration and union. What sets Zen Yoga apart from other yoga systems is the addition of Taoist Longevity Yoga, elements of the I Ching and qigong energetic anatomy. This is a dynamic, physically challenging program and it can also be tailored to all ages and abilities.
As a certified 1000-hour Zen Wellness instructor in ZW Qigong, Qi Fit, and Zen Yoga with over 10,000 hours of training, I am dedicated to providing on-line QiFit and ZenYoga classes as well as live group classes in the Peekskill, NY area.
Interested in teaching these modalities? I am also qualified to take people through a 200 and 300 hour teacher certification in Medical Qigong and Zen Yoga.
The Zen Wellness Qigong Restorative program is the first step of learning the qigong basics and incorporate this ancient modality into your daily practice.
